Sunday 2nd February saw anglers gathering for the sixth heat of the Innis Winter Fly Fishing League. Eighteen of us turned out on what was almost a spring-like day with some wind but very mild. With Dave Truran taking over the time keeping and fly checks for the day the match started at 9.15am. A slow start for most anglers with the exception of Dave Perks who caught his limit of five fish on his first peg in twenty minutes. After the first peg several anglers had caught two or three fish and most of the pegs produced well for the rest of the morning. At lunch time it was clear that six or seven anglers were still in the running for first place, but the last heat winner, Dave Johns, came through with a nine fish haul giving him a total of 14 points. Just two points behind was Newquay angler, Keith Burnett, taking second place and Dave Perks with 11 points taking third position. The next heat will take place on Sunday 16th February. Please see league table below for up-to-date placings. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon, Tightlines, from all at Innis.
HEAT SEVEN will take place on Sunday 16th Febuary at a start time of 9.15am....look forward to seeing you all again, if not before.
