STERRICK LAKE Catch & Release slideshow
Walk past the Carbis car park under large mature conifers Sterrick Lake comes into veiw. One of the jetties protudes into the lake in the southwest corner. Turn to your right and look along the grassy dividing strip between the two lakes you find plenty of unrestricted casting areas along this bank. With a large island at the southern end tempting you to try and reach its banks, but the distance is decieving for all but the real long haulers! A shallow bay towards the eastern bank provides good dry fly sport over the underwater weed, catch and keep the fish high to avoid loosing it to the weed. Move down the northern bank back to the island and another jetty struts out into the lake giving an extra 5 yds to your cast. Good spots abound around the island and along the reed lined western bank arriving back at the jetty. Spoilt for choice where to start just keep your eyes peeled for tell tale rise's..game on! This is the catch & release lake.
