Saturday saw the 21st running of our Snowbee Innis Spring Cup Competition. Thirty anglers took to the water for a 9.20am start. Conditions were cold and misty first thing in the morning but almost immediately fish started to feed and rods began to bend. As the morning progressed and the weather improved fish were being taken all over both lakes and giving the controllers plenty to do. At 12.30pm everyone stopped for an hour break for a pasty and a cuppa. The afternoon session started again at 1.30pm and like the morning session the fishing was brisk. As the competition neared the end several anglers had caught and released good numbers of fish, all between 2.5lb and 4lb in weight. The Presentation and Hog Roast was held at Trethurgy Village Hall and the prizes were awarded by Russell Weston from Snowbee and Fishery owner Dave Johns. The winner with 12 fish was Roger Truscott from Liskeard. Second place went to John Huckings from Redruth with 10 fish and Third place went to Dave Grove from Newton Abbott with 9 fish. Prizes were awarded down to tenth place. Full results are shown below. Dave and Theresa would like to Thank Russ Weston and all at Snowbee UK for their continued support. All of our Controllers who gave up their day to make the competition a success. Tony Chipman of Cornwall Trophies for supplying the trophies. Pearce's Butchers for supplying the dinner time pasties. All the lads that helped with the pre-match stocking, and of course to all the anglers that took part.....hopefully see you all again next year.
Many Thanks from Dave and Theresa.
